David Swillum of New iMage Works Photography in Lawrence, Massachusetts shoots a variety of glamour shots of beautiful women. Women on beaches, in studios, with snakes, and so on.
Commercially David is published in Boston Magazine, has done work for Shaper Corsets as well as numerous clothing catalogs.
Self taught, David started with photography in grade school by volunteering to take photos for a graduation slide show. He kept with it; and, today we have 5 images from his series “Study of Two Women, Somewhere in Time.”
David uses every source available to create a concept specifically for the models he intends for a shoot. He takes the time to collaborate on ideas until the project is jointly put together in a way all are passionately excited about.
In the genesis for this series, David wished to create images that would capture the innocence of a private moment, beautiful and sensual, and specifically without nudity.
Period clothing, from a time frame he felt would contextually add a certain level of mystery, were chosen to help keep the atmosphere “a bit more proper.”
- Key Hole Outline, shot through a cut out press board ( rather than using photoshop to keep the results true to form and not so clean-cut or without some flaws )
- David is a Canon shooter and for this shoot used a Canon 60D
- Lighting consisted two Killer Bees 800’s and 1 White Lightning 1200 studio flash units
This series culminates with “The Kiss”:
David is currently working on a project centering around models and mannequins and the infinite themes that surround them and is always looking for capable models who share his ideas.
